Terms

The rules, kept short.

What you can expect from us, and what we need from you, so your Will does exactly what you intend.

The agreement

These terms are between you and Etty Ltd, trading as My Estate Planning. By creating an account or writing a Will here, you accept them.

What we provide

A guided tool that turns your answers into a Will document intended to be legally valid in England & Wales, plus free storage and unlimited updates.

We are a Will-writing tool and information service. We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice tailored to your circumstances.

What we need from you

Accurate, complete answers. A Will built on incorrect names, relationships or assets may not do what you intend.

You must be 18 or over and of sound mind to make a valid Will.

Signing makes it real

A Will only takes legal effect once printed and signed by you in the presence of two independent adult witnesses, who then sign in your presence.

Witnesses (and their spouses) must not be beneficiaries, or their gift fails.

When you need a solicitor

If you own a business, hold assets abroad, expect a dispute, have complex trusts, or face significant inheritance tax exposure, take regulated legal advice. Our estate overview flags these situations for you.

Liability

The service is free and provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect loss, or for outcomes caused by inaccurate answers or a Will that wasn't correctly signed and witnessed. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud.

Your account

Keep your password private. You can close your account at any time; we may suspend accounts used unlawfully or abusively.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
