Privacy

Your details stay yours.

A Will contains some of the most personal information you'll ever write down. Here's exactly what we do with it — in plain English.

Who we are

My Estate Planning is a trading name of Etty Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales. We are the data controller for the information you give us.

You can reach our privacy team any time at privacy@myestateplanning.co.uk.

What we collect

Account details (your email address and password, stored encrypted), and the answers you give while writing your Will — names, relationships, guardians, executors, beneficiaries and estate details.

Basic technical data such as device type and pages visited, used only to keep the service fast and secure.

Why we hold it

To generate your Will document, save your progress so you can return to it, and let you update it whenever life changes.

Where you arrived through a partner referral code, we share only your name, email and completion status with that partner so they can support you.

How we protect it

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, held on servers within the UK and EU, and access is restricted by row-level security so only you (and, where relevant, your partner adviser) can see it.

We never sell your data. We never use the contents of your Will for advertising.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open, so your Will stays available to you. Delete your account and we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where law requires us to retain records.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email privacy@myestateplanning.co.uk and we'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
